This year it is not all about clothing or even accessories. The big fashion statement that can help you right away is to give your makeup a make-over!
Makeup Opportunities
The makeup that you use can be as flexible as you like. You can try out different looks and determine what is best for you and for a particular occasion. And with the versatility of makeup you can try new things easily!
Be aware, however, that the makeup that was the hottest style last season could be a faux pas this season.
Makeup Trends
Let’s take a look at some easy makeup updates and how you can capitalize on the latest sensations!
1. Preparation
The cleansers, moisturizers and other pre-makeup products have improved dramatically this season thanks to some revolutionary breakthroughs to help skin look healthier and even out the natural tone.
Look for some products like Bellaplex that are safe for your skin type and that address your specific concerns.
2. Foundation
Some amazing foundations are now on the market that include very soft and smooth “breathable” foundation liquids as well as powders. Choose a tone based on the combination of your skin color, time of day, and type of event. Be sure to cover your face evenly along with under the chin, cheek, and blend into the neck area.
Apply a good powder foundation to provide a canvas for your selected makeup colors.
3. Colors
From eyebrow liner to lip liner, shadows and blushes there is an amazing variety of colors to choose from this season. Try your luck with some warm autumn oranges, reds or browns. Or go lighter and more natural with some peach, pink, or light blue colors. Night time events should have bolder and darker shades, while your daytime events should go more natural or lighter.
You can even try something in-between if you plan on starting in the afternoon and lasting until the evening!
4. Lashes
As one of your finishing touches, there are some lash products now that have microfiber threads to provide an extended and exaggerated look. First apply your regular mascara, then apply the liquid adhesive only to the tips of lashes.
Apply the microfiber threads, then wait a minute or two to allow time to dry. Repeat the process to extend even more!
5. Lips
The long lasting lip colors for this season are outstanding. Special blends have helped to tint your lips while also the glosses help them to shine and stand out. For plumper, fuller lips use some liner and delicately line your lips on the edge to accentuate the shape.
Enjoy your makeup selection and take some chances with this season’s bold new looks.
Strike a Pose
When you are ready to show off your new look, be sure to pose properly for the camera! Here are some ideas for the right pose for makeup:
1. The pucker
The infamous duck face is out, but you should still ever so slightly pucker and part your lips just enough to give a bit of a pout.
2. The smile
Mastering that special smile takes practice. Try to avoid the big wide grin, but try your smile while saying words that reflect what you want to communicate in the photo, such as “happy”, or “glad”, or “mischief”.
3. Eyes
A straight-on pose is great, but you can also turn your head sideways and try a glance. Also try looking upwards at the camera, or for a shy look, slightly close your eyes as you look downward and away from the camera.
4. Hidden tricks
Clenching your jaw a bit can help reduce some of the wrinkles or puffy areas on your neck or jaw areas. Also breathe deeply to relax your facial muscles and reduce wrinkles.
